The lens delivers ultimate handling ease and portability in the field due to its lightweight size and mechanical operation. Indeed the AF70-300mm is best suited for shooting outdoors making full use of the real telephoto of 300mm as well as providing diversity in portraiture using the medium focal length range of 70mm to 135mm.

Macro shooting up to 1:2 at tele end (Switchover system)

2] Macro Switchover mechanism at any focal length range between 180mm and 300mm allows you to get closer to your subject down to 0.95m (37.4″)

3] 1:2 of maximum magnification ratio also possible in the normal shooting range (70mm to 180mm) at an M.O.D. of 1.5m (59.0″)

4] Easy composition with superb latitude of macro focal length range from 180mm to 300mm, particularly useful when taking macro shots on a tripod since you can zoom easily to compose your image

Aimed at delivering portability in the field
Delivers the utmost in portability in the field since design criteria to further reduce weight was achieved by employing sophisticated engineering plastic components

Superb image quality with LD (Low Dispersion) element
Employment of LD (Low Dispersion) glass element compensates for chromatic aberration, especially at the tele-end, resulting in superb image quality even at the maximum open aperture . Nine-blade diaphragm construction creates a natural and ideal blurred effect in the image background for portraiture and macro photography

Improved mechanical accuracy and durability
Incorporation of cam groove guideposts made of superior abrasion-resistant materials, plus improvement of the cam shape, makes for comfortable and smooth operation without image jolting or wobbling while zooming or focusing

Prevention of internal reflections with thorough surface treatment
Thorough inner surface treatment of the lens barrel is provided in order to prevent internal reflections that are harmful to your pictures

Well designed cosmetic appearance for better handling
Wider zoom and focus rings are employed to ensure a steady and secure grip thus improving the overall holding balance
