I pack it with Panasonic's Eneloop rechargeable batteries (also highly recommended) and combined with the battery in the D500 the battery life with this grip lasted me a solid 9 hours (roughly 1500-2000 snaps). The autofocus is not very fast but it does autofocus decently accurately when shooting outdoors. Indoors I found I had to switch to manual focus but the focus ring is very smooth and allows for very small adjustments. It does great for portraits, and you can really get close with the macro, and very good bokeh. Overall it is a great lens!
