This in-built pan head could be a little stiff when brand new, especially in cold temperatures but with a little use it should become smooth to rotate. The autofocus is not very fast but it does autofocus decently accurately when shooting outdoors. Indoors I found I had to switch to manual focus but the focus ring is very smooth and allows for very small adjustments.
