Although an ordinary 500 mm prime lens weighs over 3,000 g, the remarkably light weight of the AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR is nearly equivalent to that of the AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR. Together with its superior weather-resistant performance, this super-telephoto lens enables agile shooting reliably under diverse conditions.

Build quality is great and it can easily handle a telephoto lens. The leveling pan head is a nice feature on a monopod. This in-built pan head could be a little stiff when brand new, especially in cold temperatures but with a little use it should become smooth to rotate. Overall, happy with the quality of this product. As usual, no problems while dealing with the team at Gaffarbhai and Sons. A+++!

At 53.3 inches with the central pole retracted it is quite tall and one does not have to crounch. Quater inch twist lock mechanism makes it really fast to assemble the legs.
