Coming to combo , its very stable and easy to balance my 5D M4 and 500 MM F4 IS2 combo. The supplied plate PL 100 is a bit short in my opinion & one might need a bigger lens plate or a QR lens foot. Overall i am happy with the purchase, would recommend for wildlife photographers.

This grip has been a life-saver on the job. I pack it with Panasonic's Eneloop rechargeable batteries (also highly recommended) and combined with the battery in the D500 the battery life with this grip lasted me a solid 9 hours (roughly 1500-2000 snaps). I even had some battery left at the end of the night.

If you're going to be using the D500 for any period of time longer than 3 hours at a time, I highly suggest you grab this battery grip. It also has the plus side of making the camera more stable in-hand.
